Powerflush: What, Why and When
Have you had issues with your boiler lately? Can you feel cold spots around the bottom of your radiators? These are signs you have a build up of ‘sludge’ in your central heating system. To clear the pipes, boiler, and radiators, you need a Powerflush.
A Powerflush is a way of cleaning your central heating system. It works by connecting a pump to your system and pushing chemicals through the system. These chemicals are specifically chosen to remove rust and debris. The chemicals are pushed through the pipes, boiler, and radiators. This cleanses your system of all sludge build up.
You should be regular servicing your central heating, therefore, you should only need to have a Powerflush every 5 or 6 years. Keeping to this you will be able to maintain your central heating’s efficiency. If the sludge build-up is severe, this may not be the ideal solution and you may need to think about replacing your system instead.
A Powerflush is always recommended because your home will greatly benefit. Having a clear central heating system will increase its efficiency, give you higher hot water temperatures and quieter boiler and radiators.
